Abex’s MAP3 mobile access platform, developed to ensure safer practices when working at height has won the UK Fork Lift Truck Association’s 2010 Award for safety.  With a total of six finalists this was a toughly contested category, and the award is testimony to the impact that the MAP3 has had on the repair and maintenance sector since it was launched in the autumn of 2009.

“We designed the MAP3 as a much safer alternative to ladders and scaffolding, which according to HSE figures are the most common pieces of equipment involved in injuries and fatalities,“ said Abex MD Martin Connop, who accepted the “Archie” award from Tim Waples of the category sponsor Doosan Infracore Forklifts at the ceremony which was held on 27th February.  “The MAP3 is helping to eliminate compromises on safety,” says Martin “The fact that we won this category on a public vote shows that there is widespread acknowledgement of the need to cut risks wherever possible, and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us. “
